How does it work?
A transmitter antenna sends radio pulses which charges any AM tag in its detection area. This causes the tag to emit its own signal which the receiver antenna listens for. Therefore, the system is referred to as acousto-magnetic – “acousto” being derived from the Greek word for hearing. If the frequency known to be emitted by the tag is picked up by the receiver, then the alarm sounds.
